Iron
100x100x50 cm
Location: University of Cassino and Southern Lazio – Departments of Engineering, atrium
The work is installed in the Engineering building. The work consists of about twenty, meter-long iron bars, arranged vertically on three sides at regular distances. They form a structure with intentionally simple lines that emerges from the wall.
The work is part of the series of ‘cells’, developed by the artist since the 1980’s through his installation pieces conceived for the spaces that host them. They are characterized by a consistent use of mass-produced materials.
In the case of Untitled, the reference to urban architecture seems to recall the city of Cassino recent history and reconstruction efforts following the heavy bombing.
